From the first measure to the handover pack, we handle triple glazed bifold doors for homes in Newtown and the rest of Powys.
Folding aluminium doors with three panes in every panel. Bifold doors are made of several panels hinged together that fold and slide to one or both sides, opening almost the full width of the opening.
Winter light and glass choice in Newtown
On the shortest day, Newtown gets about 7 h 39 min of daylight and the midday sun reaches only about 14° above the horizon. Low winter sun means north-facing rooms here gain little solar heat, which is where triple glazing’s lower heat loss helps most.

Rules for bifold doors in Wales
In Wales, replacement external doors must meet 1.4 W/m²K, or a door set energy rating of band C (more than 60% glazed) or band B (other doors). Replacement external doors fall under the same energy rules as windows: a competent person scheme installer self-certifies the work, or building control approves it.
Planning: Householder permitted development rules do not cover flats, and councils can remove rights with Article 4 directions. Listed buildings need listed building consent. Check with your council before changing the style or material of a front door.
