Laminated security triple glazing in Perth and Kinross
Homes across Perth and Kinross, including Perth, Blairgowrie and Pitlochry, can have laminated security triple glazing measured, made to order and fitted.

Security and safety glazing in one triple unit. Laminated security triple glazing uses a pane made of two sheets of glass bonded to a plastic interlayer, so it cracks but stays in place when hit.

Rules in Scotland
In Scotland, replacement windows must meet 1.6 W/m²K. Replacing a window or door, frame and all, does not need a building warrant, but the work must still meet the building standards.
Before ordering: Since May 2024, replacement windows on houses are widely permitted development, including in many conservation areas, with front elevations expected to match the existing closely; your council tells you if prior notification applies. Flats outside conservation areas generally need permission only if the opening size changes. Listed buildings need listed building consent.
How it works
We start with a survey, not a sales pitch: measurements, the structure above any bays, trickle-vent needs and escape windows. The quote that follows fixes the price, and anything unexpected on the day is agreed with you first.
- Every opening measured, including escape and vent needs
- Frames rated for the weight of triple glass
- Old windows removed and taken away
- Each opening closed up the same day
Questions
Do I have to have security glass?
Not for replacements, but it is worth it on ground-floor and easy-access windows.
Is laminated glass the same as toughened?
No. Toughened glass shatters into small blunt pieces; laminated glass cracks but stays in one sheet. Both are safety glass; laminated is better for security.
Does laminated glass reduce noise?
Yes, somewhat. Acoustic laminated interlayers reduce it further.
Do you cover all of Perth and Kinross?
We arrange surveys and fitting across Perth and Kinross.
Do I need permission for laminated security triple glazing in Scotland?
In Scotland, replacement windows on houses are widely permitted development since May 2024, with front elevations expected to match closely; listed buildings need consent.
