Rules for french doors in Scotland
In Scotland, replacement external doors must meet 1.6 W/m²K. Replacing a door or window, frame and all, does not need a building warrant, but the work must still meet the building standards.
Planning: A replacement door on a house that looks similar to the existing one is generally permitted development; check with your council for flats and conservation areas, and listed buildings need listed building consent.
How it works
You will know exactly what you are buying: the quote states the unit build-up, frame, finish, fitting work and how Building Regulations compliance is handled. On fitting day each opening is replaced and closed up before the team moves on.
