Folding aluminium doors with three panes in every panel. Bifold doors are made of several panels hinged together that fold and slide to one or both sides, opening almost the full width of the opening.

Rules for bifold doors in Northern Ireland
In Northern Ireland, replacement external doors must meet 1.8 W/m²K. Replacing external doors does not need full plans or a building notice, but the work must still comply; enlarging an opening or other structural change needs building control approval.
Before ordering: Check with your council planning office before changing the style, material or size of doors, and always for listed buildings, conservation areas and flats.
How it works
We start with a survey, not a sales pitch: measurements, the structure above any bays, trickle-vent needs and escape windows. The quote that follows fixes the price, and anything unexpected on the day is agreed with you first.
- Free survey and a written quote fixed for the specification
- Glass build-up and door U-value on every quote
- Written handover pack at the end of the job
- Guarantees on frames, units and fitting in writing
Questions from Newry
Do I need building regulations for new bifolds?
Replacing an existing door is covered by the replacement rules. A new or widened opening is structural work that needs building control approval.
Are bifold doors secure?
Good systems lock at multiple points on each panel and use anti-snap cylinders. We specify tested doorsets where available.
Do I need permission for triple glazed bifold doors in Newry?
In Northern Ireland, check with your council planning office before changing the style, material or size of a door, and always for listed buildings and flats. Check whether your street is in a conservation area or covered by an Article 4 direction before changing the style.
How long does it take to get triple glazed bifold doors fitted in Newry?
After the survey, typical manufacture time is 5 to 8 weeks, and a door is usually fitted in a day.
