Triple glazed bifold doors in Ballymena
Triple glazed bifold doors for homes in Ballymena: measured on a free survey, made to order and fitted by installation teams working for us across County Antrim.
Slim, strong bifolds rated for heavy triple glass. Bifold doors are made of several panels hinged together that fold and slide to one or both sides, opening almost the full width of the opening.
Winter light and glass choice in Ballymena
Winter days in Ballymena are short: about 7 h 11 min of daylight on 21 December, with the sun peaking near 12°. That low angle reaches deep into south-facing rooms, so we match the glass to each elevation rather than using one spec for the whole house.

Rules for bifold doors in Northern Ireland
Northern Ireland sets replacement door limits through Technical Booklet F1 (2022): 1.8 W/m²K. Replacing external doors does not need full plans or a building notice, but the work must still comply; enlarging an opening or other structural change needs building control approval.
Planning: Check with your council planning office before changing the style, material or size of doors, and always for listed buildings, conservation areas and flats.
How it works
After the free survey you get a written quote naming the frame system, the glass build-up and the whole-window U-value for every item. Windows are made to order, then fitted, sealed and made good, one opening at a time.
- Every opening measured, including escape and vent needs
- Frames rated for the weight of triple glass
- Old windows removed and taken away
- Each opening closed up the same day

Are bifold doors secure?
Good systems lock at multiple points on each panel and use anti-snap cylinders. We specify tested doorsets where available.

Replacing an existing door is covered by the replacement rules. A new or widened opening is structural work that needs building control approval.

After the survey, typical manufacture time is 5 to 8 weeks, and a door is usually fitted in a day.
