Triple glazed bifold doors in Newquay
Looking at triple glazed bifold doors for a home in Newquay? We survey, quote and fit across Cornwall, and the TR7 postcode district is part of that.
Open the wall in summer, keep the warmth in winter. Bifold doors are made of several panels hinged together that fold and slide to one or both sides, opening almost the full width of the opening.
Winter light and glass choice in Newquay

Rules for bifold doors in England
In England, replacement external doors must meet 1.4 W/m²K, or a door set energy rating of band C (more than 60% glazed) or band B (other doors). Replacement external doors fall under the same energy rules: a competent person scheme installer (such as FENSA or Certass) self-certifies the work and notifies the council, or a building control body approves it.
Before ordering: Replacing doors on a house is normally permitted development if the new ones look similar. Flats need planning permission for a change that alters their appearance, an Article 4 direction may mean permission is needed, and listed buildings need listed building consent.
How it works
The surveyor measures every opening, checks ventilation, escape windows and safety-glass zones, and talks through styles. Your written quote lists each item with its glass build-up and U-value, and the price is fixed for that specification.
- Every opening measured, including escape and vent needs
- Frames rated for the weight of triple glass
- Old windows removed and taken away
- Each opening closed up the same day
